It’s Monday and that means….

It’s Monday again.  We had a busy week last week with the Princess’s birthday and an out of town trip to celebrate.  I love the estivities, but it means that my usual weekend tasks of menu planning and grocery shopping have been put off until today.

This week, I’m going to be cooking from “Dinner Made Easy”.  It’s a great service from Betty Crocker.com that focuses on getting dinner on the table quickly.  I’ve been getting their e-mail newsletter for a while, but thought that maybe it was time to give a few recipes a try.

Monday
Southwest Chicken Skillet

I might serve it with spanish rice or corn (Littlebit’s favorite) but it really is a fairly complete meal.
Tuesday

Slow cooker pork chops with cherry apple stuffing and veggies

Wednesday
Chicken breasts with creamy mushroom gravy, asparagus and fresh bread

Thursday

Tamale Pot pie and veggies
Friday

Bacon wrapped filet mignon, crash hot potatoes and veggies and onion rings.

Saturday

Pizza Night!

WFMW-Making posting pictures easier.

One of the tips on having a successful blog lies, apparently, is putting pictures in your posts.  I try to include one in each post I write.  Sometimes I consider throwing something in there that doesn’t even go along so make sure one is included, but haven’t sunk that low yet.

I have a great camera.  A DSLR that I adore, but it’s not that portable.  It’s too expensive and fragile to just leave in the car or tote around waiting for a photo opportunity to present itself, but I do want to make sure I’m capturing day to day things.

I begged and pleaded convinced Big Daddy to get me an iPhone a few weeks ago and it really takes pretty good pictures for a phone.  That solved my camera toting problem, but I still had a problem on how to easily get the pictures from my phone to my blog.  The answer?

Flickr.com allows you to send pictures via e-mail and into your account.    I know  I’m probably the last person on the planet to figure that out, but I thought that there HAD to be someone else who didn’t know too.  It’s super easy.  Simply access your Flickr.com account and under the “your account” settings chooe the “e-mail” tab.  You’ll then see the unique e-mail address that will allow you to send pictures from your phone into your photo stream.  Voila!  Simple!

You will have to take my word for it that I took and uploaded this picture while writing this post, but as you can see it is spontaneous as you can see the evidence of an oatmeal hair dunking on Littlebit and who would stage something like that?

The Habit Project-Phase 2, week 1

Well, I admitted that I thought this one was going to be really hard when I introduced the concept last week and, yes, it’s been every bit as hard as I thought.  Finding 30 minutes of time, even non-consecutively, to exercise is a struggle and I only managed…gulp….one time last week.  It was Monday and I was all gung ho and exercised on a full, upset stomach and then laid around and moaned for about fifteen hours about the stupidity of it.

This is obviously going to take at least one more of my allotted  extra weeks.

I want to exercise, but finding balance during the day is beyond difficult.   My best two options to find time to do it all in a row is before the little people get up, which is nearly an impossible task or after Big Daddy comes home from work.  That’s a more likely possibility, but our evening time is already so crunched.

Baby Bee does nap most days, but it seems like I have forty seven hours of work to cram into the ninety minutes of single-childedness that I have.  When the weather gets nicer, I can see Baby Bee and me being able to go for walks during the time we’re waiting for Littlebit to get out of preschool and speech, but for now?  I’m stuck in the house.  As of today and thanks to that damn Groundhog, spring seems like it’s forever away….

Pretty, but played out.
