Weekend Linky-Spring Cleaning

Well, I’m pretty much not.  Because what’s the point?  We’ll likely have the house professionally cleaned after we move out out.  At this point in time, with the move, I’m making a choice (there’s that word again) to forgo spring cleaning.  My blinds will stay dusty.  So will my baseboards.  I just have better things to do.  BUT, if you’re not moving 400 miles to a new house, you might want to spring clean.

Well, you probably won’t WANT to but you may feel obliged or compelled to.

Simple Mom has a great series on spring cleaning, breaking it down into manageable chunks over the course of a week.

If you want to really go spring cleaning CRAZY you can check out the Grand Plan from Organized home.  It will literally leave no stone (or cushion) unturned.

Small Notebook talks about the high cost of storage and how much money you could save if you just got rid of your crap. (Okay, it’s not really about spring cleaning per se, but it is an interesting take on how important it is to simplify, how much your extra crap could be costing you and why less is better. )

About.com offers a Spring Cleaning checklist and they include helpful tips on HOW to accomplish the things on the list.

Of course Martha will show you how to spring clean complete with a 3 page PDF checklist.

Now, it doesn’t seem likely I’m going to be doing some spring cleaning… but it’s a nice resource to have in case I do!

I’m in the midst of a move myself and everything here has gone to hell as far as the cleaning is concerned! I figure I’ll run a quick mop/vacuum/dust cloth the day we go and that will just have to be that!

Yeah, mine has got as good as it’s going to get. We have five showings tomorrow (fingers crossed, right?) and I just can’t do anymore. My little girls are sick and SO clingy and I’m sleep deprived. If you won’t buy my house because I forgot a cob web then I don’t like you very much. ;)

I need to spring clean but the basic cleaning takes all day as it is. Besides, I’m sick!

Obviously I’m trying to avoid it, can you tell?

It’s super hard with the little people and all of the obligations. This is such a busy time of year, but make no mistake. I don’t really spring clan even when I’m not busy. My mom used to wash the walls. The walls! Every wall! Every spring! Who DOES that? (It’s probably on that Martha Stewart checklist….)
