And even though it’s only been a few days, it feels right here.
Tonight, I made dinner in my much bigger kitchen. We were freshly back from picking up our first CSA share. Big Daddy took the little girls outside and they shoot baskets while I cooked. I was exactly what I hoped.
Yesterday, the Princess took it upon herself to meet the little girl down the street who is her age. I don’t think I would have been brave enough to walk down and introduce myself, but she was. Said little girl had another commitment and couldn’t hang out, but we’re hoping to see her soon.
This morning, Littlebit climbed out of my bed and said “I’m going to play in the playroom now”. And that’s what she did.
Auntie Awesome stopped by yesterday and played with the girls for hours while Big Daddy and I worked on getting the house in order. A sleepover is planned for tomorrow and Littlebit left her house today missing Auntie Awesome before we even left the driveway.
We need to paint some rooms.
And there are some “opportunities”. Places for us to improve and change. Things to do. Places to grow into.
Tonight, after Big Daddy and I put the little girls to bed he said to me “I love our non-starter house”. And I do too.
