Last week marked our fifteenth week of our CSA. Honestly, it has its pros and cons.
First, I’ve loved all the fresh, organic produce we’ve received. I’ve loved trying new things. Some things I haven’t loved trying. However, for our family a full share was a little much. Next year, we’ll sign up for a half share and Big Daddy and I are going to do some raised bed gardening here at home. It really has been a wonderful experience and I look forward to seeing what will be in our share every week.
The point behind the CSA review? Well, we’re obviously incorporating some things into our weekly menu plan.
Monday Soccer Practice
Mediterranean Pasta with Greens and grilled chicken breasts (our grilled chicken breasts have come a long way this summer. We use a couple of different grill seasonings and they’ve actually become enjoyable.)
Skillet ham, cabbage and potatoes I am not a fan of cooked cabbage, but we have two small heads here and I really need to make sure we use them up.
Wednesday CSA Pickup Day
Crock pot chicken Marsala with green salad
Thursday Soccer Practice
Brinner!(breakfast for dinner). Texas casserole, eggs and fruit
We’re having company, so dinner is TBD
Littlebit’s Princess and the Frog Mardi Gras themed birthday party
White chicken chili and FOOTBALL! Maybe.
