Menu Plan Monday

Happy November!

Yes, I know November started last week, but better late than never.  I love this time of year.   Dearly.  The time from Halloween to when the Princess goes back to school after Christmas break is my absolute favorite time of year.

And, I love winter and fall too, so I’m typically a pretty happy camper.  It’s finally cold here in Ohio.  We’ve been waking up every morning to a thick covering of frost on the grass and trees and Big Daddy is fretting about whether or not to mow the grass one last time.  We had some tiny snow flurries Friday night as well, much to the delight of the Princess.  Littlebit looks at the frost every morning and announces that it’s “almost” snow.

This week, I’m going to be starting a series to help you get ready for Christmas.  I know other sites do this too, but this is kind of the “I’m a slacker, yet also a Martha Stewart wannabe” list.

BUT, I’m excited to share with you some of the meals we had over the past week.

Baked Macaroni and Cheese with broccoli (I love making recipes that are full of veggies)

Beef and Vegetable casserole (I always use lean ground turkey in place of ground beef)

I gave up and we went out for Sandwiches.  We all have those nights.

Broccoli and cheddar quiche.

I wrote about quiche a long time ago. My opinion on it has not changed. Not one bit.

Pizza and movie night (We’ll be starting a holiday themed Family Movie Night soon and I can’t wait to share that with you!)

Big Daddy and I go on a date.  It was divine.  Thanks, Auntie Awesome.

Kevin and Amandas Creamy Chicken Dumpling soup

I’ve made this before and we liked it.  I added some spices to the dumplings and it was delish.  Perfect cold weather, easy to make soup.

I hope something here inspires you to cook something good this week.  Happy dining!

Yum! I try to plan menus on Saturday or Sunday. It’s hard thinking up a week’s worth of dinner ideas! Even harder for me because my preschooler is allergic to so many foods.

Planning the menu is the only thing that keeps me sane. I tried just going to the store and buying what was on sale or whatever, but it didn’t really work. I never had what I needed and we spent too much money that way.

Thanks for stopping by! I’m not a huge broccoli fan, but I like oven roasted veggies.

You should check out the Betty Crocker website for “Impossible Pies”. I make these all the time… just as quick as you’ve said. They’ve got some different ideas on flavors.

Are impossible pies like quiche? I’ll check them out. I’m in love with quiche. And everyone else likes it too.
