I love summer sewing. It’s probably my favorite season to sew for. I feel so inpsired to sew when the weather starts to warm up and I know twirly, light weight skirts and floaty sundresss are on the sewing menu.

I wish I could link you to this pattern, but I got it out of a Japanese swing book. It’s super simple and I love how it’s a little bit retro. I also think Littlebit can rock the bold pattern, don’t you?

And, of course, Baby Bee in the ubiquitous pillow case dress. Adorable, no? You can see a basic tutorial for the pillow case dress at Prudent Baby, but if you’re a new sewist and you have little girls to sew for, this project takes little time and little fabric. And it takes ribbon.
I’m always looking for more, easy summer sewing:

I’ll be trying out this pattern on a top for Baby Bee and then adapting it into shirts, dresses and possibly pajamas for the other two.

And lovely summer skirts. Even perfect with plain tank tops
