The Girl Who Waited

I want to start off by saying that I won’t be quite the same ever again. Angus changed me forever and holding him as he passed away was something that I don’t think I’ll recover from, completely. I jokingly told Big Daddy that Angus was one my great love and while that’s not all the way true, I don’t think there will ever be anyone quite like him in my heart.

But, I know the truth about me is that I’m happier with a cat. I love dogs a lot, but cats are kind of my people, in a weird way and Angus is the paragon of it all. The exact cat I’ve always wanted. A cat who couldn’t wait to be with me, who settled into my lap and who loved me the most. And while we have the lovely Luna, she belongs to the Princess.

But, Amelia (aka Amy Pond) is mine.

We applied to adopt her ten days ago, but had to wait for her to get a clean bill of health before she came home. The rescue things she may be part Bengal because she has really cool markings all over, including dots on her tummy.

Her second day at home, she sought my lap when she sat down. She’ll never be Angus, but I’m hopeful that we’ll be good friends.
