Marching Band-And the Menu Plan!
So, the Princess started marching band this fall. I had no idea that it would mean that Big Daddy and I also started marching band, minus the marching. Our weekends are now comprised of shuttling the Princess to and from games and other band activities. I’m supportive because I know that the people who spend countless hours with in high school become your best friends. Like me, the Princess isn’t too athletically inclined, but band seems like a good fit.
Last Friday was the team (and the band’s) first home game. The Princess is nearly front row center at the fifty yard line when she marches in formation. I get a little misty. High School isn’t easy. Growing up is hard. Girls can be mean, miserable creatures, but with some luck and the right friends, it can be so much fun. I’m looking forward to the fun the Princess has ahead of her; homecoming dances in sparkly dresses, prom, but no boyfriends.
Never any boyfriends.
Fall is sneaking in here. The temperatures are finally cooling off and I have no problem sneaking in some cold weather food.

Friday I’m away for the night. The Princess has a home game and Big Daddy is on call and I’m going to suggest pizza. I have no idea what I’ll be eating, but my bet is that it won’t be at ALL healthy.
Saturday I’ve been promising a back yard sleep out. We’ll be grilling hot dogs over a fire, having smores and playing some awesome backyard camping games.
Sunday I’m thinking of making some healthy game day munchies as a change of pace.
