Witch Tit Cold–and the menu plan!

Actually, my family always had a saying that was definitely less family friendly than the one above, but it means pretty much the same thing. We have hit a serious deep freeze here in Ohio and across a lot of the United States.

I, for one, am happy to see it. I spend a LOT of time being worried about climate change, so I like seeing normal winter patterns where I live which means, for winter, cold and snow. We are definitely checking off those tick boxes this week. However, by the weekend, it’s going to be 50 and rainy.

I’ll probably end up with a migraine.

I don’t complain about cold and snow in the winter.  I did, rarely, before, but even less so now.  We need a nice, deep freeze every year and we’re getting one.  And I love it, even though I’m living in two sweaters at one time.

We got our tree down this weekend.  Big Daddy hauled it out back to shelter the birds and to turn into an amazing bone fire when the weather gets warm again.  As always, I’m sorry and not sorry to see the tree go.  I hit the new year with the deep need to clean and throw away everything in the house and that includes the tree.  It’s been a nice month, but it’s time for our friend, the tree, to go.

The treadmill was delivered last week and I’ll be at Weight Watchers on Tuesday.  While the last week as a little topsy turvy, we were still endeavoring to make better choices even though we hadn’t punched into our New Year’s plan, fully.  I struggle when the week semi-starts on Wednesday and then is really only Thursday because school is canceled on Friday because it’s sub-zero.

Plus, after the holidays, I usually need a couple of days of napping.  I took two naps on Friday.  It was amazing.

Here’s to our first full week of back to business in 2018!

Monday BBQ Meatloaf, mashed potatoes and steakhouse green beans-11pts

Tuesday Airfryer chicken nuggets, macaroni and cheese and veggies-17pts

Wednesday Dinner salads with ciabatta bread-12 pts

Thursday Houston’s Couscous, Chicken-9 pts

Friday Dinner Out (Princess’s Choice)

Saturday Cajun Chicken and Rice-10 pts

Sunday TBD

*It’s colder than a witch’s tit in a brass bra is the family sorry.  I’m sorry.
