Four years ago, I was sitting at my craft desk. I had lopped lengths of ribbon over a dowel suspended on a shelf. The ends of the ribbons hung in every shade of the rainbow (organized in ROY G BIV, of course), their loose ends staggered and vibrant against the wall. Suddenly, those ribbons seemed not only a fitting metaphor for my life, but the perfect name for a blog.
I’m a thirty something stay at home to three girls who recently completed a 450 mile move from the suburbs of Chicagoland to small town Ohio. Along with keeping up with my telecommuting husband, three busy girls and various other interests, I maintain a blog that currently spans nearly two years and several hundred posts. While my current blog is only a few years old, I’ve been maintaining and writing at my own personal websites since 2000 when my oldest daughter was born. My style and approach has changed to reflect not only changing technology by our evolving family and lifestyle. I bring a fresh, realistic view of parenting multiple children as well as covering the issues that follow a reluctant soccer mom. I seek to reach out to parents to exchange information and ideas, to build a better blog community and to continue to shape my writing and story telling skills. I hope to offer a realistic view of parenthood as well as practical ideas, inspiration and tales of life in the trenches doing the most difficult, and important, job I’ll ever hold.
